WHO: Multi-instrumentalist BETH PATTERSON, formerly of the New Orleans based band, The Poor Clares, brings her traditional and original mix of Celtic, Cajun and folk music to the Old Brogue Concerts. Her performance is a rare opportunity to savor the spice and seduction of New Orleans against a backdrop of the evocative musical images of misty skies and stormy seas of the Celtic lands.

Performing primarily on her 8 and 10-string bouzouki (or cittern), Beth is also a first class bass guitarist and singer. She has played in eleven countries throughout the Americas and Europe, and spent a year studying traditional Irish music and ethnomusicology at the University of Cork in Ireland. A veteran producer and studio musician, Beth is also a prolific songwriter whose compositions have been featured on the recordings of several diverse artists.

Audiences for these concerts are requested to be quiet (except, of course, when encouraged to participate!). By popular demand the series continues to be a non smoking event.  A full dinner menu of the Old Brogue’s fine fare will be available, as well as one of the area’s most extensive collection of choice ales. SPACE IS LIMITED AND THESE ARE POPULAR CONCERTS SO EARLY BOOKING IS RECOMMENDED.

Directions: I-495 to exit 44 (Georgetown Pike, Rte. 193), West 6 miles to the second light at Walker Road in Great Falls, VA. To get to the Old Brogue turn left into the second entrance to the Village Centre off Georgetown Pike just past the light.  For information and reservations, call (703)759-3309.
